Overview
ICAO Annex 11 and 12 specify the organization of and processes for handling aeronautical emergencies.
An important aspect of handling emergencies and SAR are the cross-border agreements and proficiency
The efficiency of the regional SAR system should be raised and faster response times in emergencies promoted. Better coordination mechanisms should be aimed for.
The implementation of new SOPs and recommended practices in support of GADSS will not only help to further enhance aviation safety, it will also provide an opportunity to review and enhance existing SAR collaboration within the region further supporting the global aviation industry.
