Join us at ICAO’s 3rd Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) to be held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from 30 April to 2 May 2024. Hosted by the Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil (IDAC), this event will center around the overarching theme of “Optimizing Aviation Capacity: Strategies for Safe Skies, Sustainable Future,” and include discussions on pivotal implementation support activities, ranging from the development of modernized airport infrastructures capable of accommodating higher levels of passenger traffic while maintaining stringent safety standards and sustainability objectives, to optimizing air traffic management systems for efficient operations, to nurturing a skilled and adaptable workforce capable of mastering evolving technologies. Dedicated panel sessions on training will explore the significance of continuous learning and emerging technologies in driving effective capacity projects. Moreover, discussions on ICAO’s proposed Finvest Hub will delve into the need for greater partnerships and increased engagement between the aviation industry and financial institutions to achieve the goal of decarbonizing aviation by 2050. The GISS 2024 will further explore the impact of air transport, tourism and capacity development as key drivers of economic resilience. The Symposium is open to all related entities of your State and Region, including but not limited to Ministries, Directorates General of Civil Aviation, international and regional organizations, high level participants representing aviation service providers (i.e. air navigation service providers, airport operators, airlines), financial and development institutions, human resources departments, and project/procurement sections, TRAINAIR PLUS Programme (TPP) Members, academic institutions, industry partners, and other interested parties.
